Do you want to spend the spring semester learning how to make a real impact on critical environmental issues?

If you do, apply for an internship with Environment Massachusetts: http://environmentmassachusetts.org/page/jobs

Environment Massachusetts is a state-wide, citizen-based environmental advocacy group. Right now, we’re working on to get more wind energy in Massachusetts as well as strengthen pollution rules for power plants to clean up our air.

As an intern with Environment Massachusetts, you will learn how to analyze environmental problems, advocate for smart solutions, and build public support. For example, this semester I organized and held my first press conference to build public awareness around wind energy tax credits.

Plus, an internship with Environment Massachusetts gives you the training and the experience you need to land a job in the environmental movement after graduation.  In fact, Environment Massachusetts is one of 29 state groups that make up Environment America, a national environmental advocacy group.  Each year, Environment America hires passionate, talented and committed recent college graduates to join our two-year Fellowship Program.

Although Environment Massachusetts internships are unpaid, we can facilitate receiving academic credit.

Constructing a solar project atop a brownfield or existing capped landfill requires specialized project management skills, proper engineering and a positive, collaborative relationship with regulators. The key to executing a successful solar project on a brownfield or landfill is choosing a solar development team that has proven experience in energy projects, site remediation, landfill design and long-term care for environmentally challenged sites

For the past 25 years, the Brightfields team has built a strong reputation on successfully completing large remediation projects and is accustomed to working with state and federal agencies, city managers, town councils and community groups at every step of the process. Our team has attained regulatory closure for brownfields, landfills and Superfund sites in several states, with ongoing management responsibility for seven properties.

We are currently hiring interns from colleges in the area who may be looking for opportunities in the environmental field for 2013, either for the spring semester alone or for the entire year.  We are located on Walnut Street at the other end of town from the Wellesley College Campus, but we offer flexible hours that could match up with an academic schedule.

Renova is an investor and developer of former industrial properties, commonly known as “brownfields”. The Company purchases, entitles, master plans and remediates contaminated property. The Company works closely with regulatory agencies, and sees the development of a remedial strategy as a team effort between the developer, the governing agencies, and the local community. Such approach is both cost-effective and time-efficient, eliminating the need for time-consuming revisions to a remedial approach. This also provides the greatest opportunity to enhance the position of sellers as well as the communities in which the properties are located.
